I first heard of Jonas when he was a student at Evangel University. He was very popular, singing in chapel and at student events on a regular basis. After graduation, I had the opportunity to get to know him, and it was cool to see him grow as a minister, not just a performer. We brought his band back to campus several times. In fact, the Homecoming concert with Farewell June in 2007 was a blast, easily my favorite of the past ten years. We were so pleased with their presentation, I was able to secure some funding so that the band represented Evangel as they toured the country.

Now Jonas is touring solo, and I recommend him highly for any and all settings, except perhaps retirement homes. But he is so charming, the old ladies will probably love him, too.

It has been my privilege to get to know Jonas Woods, and experience his giftings and ministry over the last several years.

I first heard Jonas when he was leading Farewell June on the 1939 tour. I have been a gigging musician for over three decades, and a church bassist for over 20 years, and I was absolutely impressed with both the musicianship and professionalism displayed that first evening. They truly blew me away!

Jonas brought his band across the country again in support of the Identity Crisis album. Once again, Jonas and his band treated our congregation with courtesy and gratitude. We were more than happy to have them in our church for the Saturday evening concert, and again to lead Sunday morning worship.

Most recently, Jonas visited our church as a solo artist, and it was this visit that gave me insight into the man. He had no lights, no backing band. Just his guitar and his songs and his testimony. Hearing Jonas tell the stories behind his songs made me appreciate his ministry all over again. On Sunday morning, he used our worship team as a backing band, and was a joy to work with.

I could not more highly commend and endorse Jonas Woods.

Jonas is the man! When I met Jonas he was one of my clients needing a photo shoot. But we ended up being great friends. The reason? Jonas is a person who understands that there’s more to this life then what we see. He understands he has a purpose and a mission in life and hes doing it. He is here to be Christ like.
